From Janki Chatti, begin the approximately 6-km trek to Yamunotri Temple. Depending on availability and local regulations, pilgrims may also use a pony or palki/doli. Uttarakhand Tourism describes Yamunotri as being reached from Janki Chatti by a steep trek of roughly 3 km in one official destination description, while its Char Dham itinerary uses the longer pilgrimage-route measurement; distances can vary by route/roadhead, so the local route and current arrangements should be followed.

On reaching Yamunotri, visit the sacred Yamunotri Temple, offer prayers and seek the blessings of Goddess Yamuna. You can also visit Surya Kund and other nearby sacred spots.

After darshan, trek back to Janki Chatti and drive to Barkot.
